SKIN functional was created to deliver a reputable and trusted South African skincare brand formulated with tried and trusted active ingredients, while offering consumers the transparency they deserve.
As a result, SKIN functional was born out of a collaborative effort with a combined experience of 30 years across various fields. Integrating the fields of pharmacology, chemistry, clinical dermatology and aesthetic medicine. The brand is based on peer reviewed literature, which forms the basis of SKIN functional’s endorsement.
The brand officially launched in 2020, after three years of research and development. It is our mission to deliver quality skincare at an accessible price while leveraging the power of social media to educate our customers with honourable SKINtelligence such as the importance and role of active ingredients in the functioning and maintenance of healthy skin.

Registration
All of our products are registered with the Cosmeceutical Notification Portal in the European Union. This means that our products undergo strict testing to meet the European Cosmetic Standards. These tests include: Microbiological, Physico-Chemical, Dermatological tests, CPSR – Cosmetic Product Safety Report. Packaging migration studies in the product, Stability studies, PIF documents.
ISO Manufacturing Standards
